Gay Brownlee was born and raised in Athens, GA. Gay is a graduate of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia with a BBA in Banking and Finance. She is the wife of Retired Army Officer LTC Emory Brownlee and mother to two young adults.
Her early career experience includes providing financial services in private colleges and a trucking association. While living in Germany, she was the Financial Office Manager for Central Texas College providing financial service support for campuses across Europe. Soon after returning to the United States, she made the decision to be a stay at home mom and was actively involved as a volunteer leader in Family Readiness Groups for military communities.
During those years with young children, her interest in health and nutrition began. She had a growing concern about the obesogenic culture in our schools and communities and the influence it was having on her family. In 2008, despite her best efforts, she found herself in not such great health and received the support of a personal health coach. The encouragement and guidance of a caring individual to help her navigate a lifestyle change as well as having a simple to follow structure resulted in personal renewed health and energy. She went from having a reactionary approach to illness to a holistic view of wellness that led to lasting change for her whole family. The shift sparked a passion and gave birth to a new career. In 2009, Gay started Wonderfully Made Health & Wellness Group and became a C.O.P.E. Certified Health Coach through The MacDonald Center for Obesity Prevention & Education in partnership with the Villanova University College of Nursing.
Today, Gay not only supports individuals in their health goals but also trains and mentors other health coaches through an apprenticeship style program. She has helped hundreds of people lose thousands of pounds and dozens more to start their own health coaching business.
She sees herself as a Freedom Warrior, contending for the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities. She describes partnering with others to overcome obstacles and to live a life with more optimal days as the best feeling in the world. Gay is enthusiastic about the potential she sees in people and excited to work with people who are ready to take personal responsibility for their health and life.
